Women's Leadership Exchange Summit
Thursday, October 09, 2008

The Women's Leadership Exchange (WLE) will host their East Coast Summit in the Sheraton NY Hotel & Towers, Nove. 13, with the theme “Strong Businesses in the Midst of a Hurricane: How to Navigate Today's Economic Storm.”

“Today, merely trying to network is not enough,” Leslie Grossman, co-founder of WLE said. “What we need are new ways of thinking and new ways of doing business. Taking that to heart, we've identified what women in business really need, and brought it all together, in what we expect will be one life-changing day for every woman who attends.”

“When the going gets rough, smart people help each other,” added co-founder Andrea March, who is, like Leslie, a battle-scarred and ultimately highly-successful serial entrepreneur. “Leslie and I, and many other women business owners as well as executives, have survived the 1987 market crash, the dot-com bust, the S&L crisis, 9/11 or all four. Now we have another economic crisis to weather. Some of us have had to change our business model in response to the new economic situation. The important thing is to help each other, which in turn will create jobs and revenue, even in this new, extremely challenging economic situation we're all facing today.”

The conference runs from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and includes six seminars with business women, keynotes, facilitated networking and one-on-one speed coaching. Also, since it is not just New York but the entire global economy going through turmoil and transition, Wall Street executive Ellyn McColgan of Morgan Stanley will offer her insights about the problems and opportunities facing businesses; human rights advocate Bianca Jagger will weigh in on the impact on humanitarian and environmental issues; and best-selling author Valerie Plame Wilson will discuss the challenges she faced going to press.

Additionally, Robin Koval, one half of the red-hot Kaplan Thaler Advertising and Marketing Agency, will talk about her bestseller and philosophy “The Power of Nice.” Built into all aspects of the day are ways for attendees to directly connect to peers for business development and to form strategic alliances.

Cost for the full day program, including breakfast, awards luncheon and cocktail reception, is $349. For additional information and to purchase tickets, call 1-888-937-5800 or log on the www.womensleadershipexchange.com.
