Powell Center Conference On Reproductive Issues Calls For Abstracts

The Deborah E. Powell Center for Women’s Health hosts the fifth annual Women's Health Research Conference covering hot topics in reproductive health, deadline for abstract submissions is August 4,2008.

The conference will be held September 22, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota's campus.

The women's center is inviting all poster abstract submissions on any topic involving women's health or gender specific research across the life span, said the Powell Center.

Suggested topics by the Powell Center are:

  • Cardiovascular health
  • Community-based research
  • Diabetes
  • Genetics
  • Mental Health
  • Neuroscience
  • Nutrition
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Oncology
  • Quality of Life including Violence Prevention
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health
  • Osteoporosis

 
Registration is also available for the conference, featuring keynote speaker Dr. David Savitz, director, Center of Excellence in Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Disease Prevention at Mount Sinai University. Other presenters include, Dr. Wendy Hellerstedt, associate professor, Division of Epidemiology and Community Health at University of Minnesota; Dr. Patricia McGovern, professor, Division of Environmental Health Sciences at University of Minnesota; Dr. Marnie Peterson, assistant professor, Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at University of Minnesota; and Dr. Renee Sieving, associate professor, School of Nursing at University of Minnesota.
